Whether it's putting together needed supplies, raising funds, or having a few people show up with tool bags to make minor repairs, Clara Ross seems like a worthy recipient of our ability to provide community service and her non-profit organization provides help for for homeless women seeking shelter. She is in constant need of supplies, funds, and help in maintaining her home.  If you're interested in putting together a small group who would be willing to look further into Clara and her organization, talk to Chuck or Linda Harper.

Clara Ross: Advocate for the Homeless in South Bend

The inspiration behind "Home for Tracy" stems from a homeless woman named Tracy, whom Ross encountered but was unable to assist before Tracy tragically passed away on the streets of South Bend. This profound loss motivated Ross to establish the organization in April 2023, with the mission of helping women transition from homelessness to stable housing. (Source)

"Home for Tracy" offers a comprehensive program tailored to each woman's unique needs. Residents can stay for 6 to 8 months, during which they are encouraged to maintain employment, build credit, and learn financial literacy. Ross emphasizes personal accountability and works closely with each individual to develop a customized plan for their journey toward self-sufficiency. (Source)

Beyond her role with "Home for Tracy," Ross serves as a greeter at Broadway Christian Parish in South Bend, where she continues to share her insights and advocate for the homeless community. (Source)

Her multifaceted efforts reflect a deep commitment to uplifting and empowering those facing homelessness, ensuring they receive the support and resources necessary to rebuild their lives.
